How To Make White Aluminum Oxide Waterproof And Moisture-proof In Humid Weather?

Nov 27, 2025

The most commonly used corundum abrasive in the abrasive industry is white aluminum oxide. It is an indispensable consumable in industrial processing and is suitable for surface beautification treatment of various high-end products, crafts, or hardware products. After sandblasting, the surface is white and free of any impurities, eliminating the hassle of cleaning.

How to make white aluminum oxide waterproof and moisture-proof?

White aluminum oxide is widely used in the manufacture of ceramics, resin-bonded abrasives, and in grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting. It is also used in the manufacture of high-grade refractory materials. So, how should white aluminum oxide be waterproofed and maintained in humid weather?

Generally, waterproofing agents can be used to waterproof white aluminum oxide. These agents, tailored to different properties, provide comprehensive protection against the penetration of water, stains, and oil, and also prevent mineral salts from being carried out of the stone, causing efflorescence or rust.

Water stains are the most common and unavoidable problem with white aluminum oxide. Under normal circumstances, water stains will fade over time. However, in the high temperatures of the seabed, water stains may not disappear. During long-term storage, the substances themselves (except fluids) do not affect the stone. Only when the substance comes into contact with water does a chemical change occur, resulting in a waxy coating. Therefore, it can be concluded that water is the biggest enemy of the stone, and the only solution is to block the pores of the stone.
