Metal grinding materials are bonded to the belt base by a binder. The adhesive should have strength, elasticity, heat resistance, water resistance, etc.
Waterproof sandpaper is mainly used for grinding and polishing of automobiles, furniture, leather, home appliance shells and mechanical parts. The gaps between the sand grains of waterproof sandpaper are smaller, and the crushed particles are also smaller. When used with water, the crushed particles will flow out with the water, so it must be used with water. If the waterproof sandpaper is used for dry grinding, the crushed particles will remain in the gaps between the sand grains, making the surface of the waterproof sandpaper shiny and unable to achieve its original effect. Dry sandpaper is not so troublesome. The gaps between its sand grains are larger, and the crushed particles are also larger. During the grinding process, the crushed particles will fall off due to the large gaps, so it does not need to be used with water.
Features of waterproof sandpaper: grinding efficiency is increased by 30-50%, long life, less heat generated by grinding, high strength, tear resistance, good anti-clogging effect, and avoid fading of sandpaper and affecting the surface quality of the workpiece.
