How To Deal With A Broken Abrasive Belt?

Apr 23, 2024

The abrasive belt may break during use, how should we deal with the breakage problem? Common fracture phenomena and operating methods are listed here.

1. The abrasive belt joints are weak and cracked. Strengthen quality control in production to meet user needs.

2. If the belt is wrinkled or damaged during transportation or installation. Check the appearance quality before installation and operate it correctly during installation.

3. The tension of the abrasive belt is too high. Adjust the tension so that it does not slip under the working load. The smaller the tension, the better.

4. Cutting too deep, friction heat accumulates. Reduce the cutting depth or feed speed, or use coolant or cooling device.

5. The work pressure is too great. Reduce the pressure.

6. External debris enters between the abrasive belt and the roller or plate. Remove debris and high-efficiency vacuuming is the best preventive measure.

7. The machine is not operating normally, and the belt is damaged by the travel switch. Repair the equipment (pay special attention to the paper-based abrasive belt).

8. The abrasive belt vibrates excessively. Use a low-hardness contact wheel to check the machine vibration or the belt quality.

9. Contact roller taper. The contact roller or graphite pad is not parallel to the base. Grind the roller to remove the taper, reinstall to keep it parallel.

10. The difference in thickness of the workpiece is too large or there is partial overlap and impact. The belt is installed as a protective device for overlapping plates and oversized parts.
