Both angle grinders and cutting wheels can be used on grinders, but the performance requirements at work are different. Today we distinguish angle grinders from cutting wheels from two levels.
First, the thickness is different. Take the grinding wheel and cutting wheel with a diameter of 100 as an example. The grinding wheel will be thicker, and the thickness of the conventional grinding wheel is more than 10mm, while the cutting disc will be thinner, and the thickness of the conventional size is about 1mm. The cutting disc is thinner, so there is less friction resistance during cutting, which is suitable for cutting operations. However, if the cutting disc is used to grind the workpiece, the cutting wheel will be broken due to the pressure on the side. The grinding wheel is thick and can bear a lot of longitudinal force, which is suitable for grinding workpieces, but if it is used for cutting, it cannot be cut.
Second, the purpose is different. The function of the grinding wheel is used for grinding and polishing, such as removing burrs on the surface of steel parts, removing weld nodules on the surface of steel parts, etc., and the grinding wheel needs to be used to remove the burrs and smooth the weld nodules. The function of the cutting wheel is to cut materials. For example, we can cut a 2-meter-long round steel into several sections. At this time, we need to use a fast and sharp cutting wheel.
