The chromium oxide in pink fused alumina refractory is less than 40‰, and the remaining component is aluminum oxide. At the same time, pink fused alumina refractory contains a small amount of impurities, has high refractoriness and high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, good thermal shock resistance and high wear resistance. From the application point of view, pink fused alumina refractory is widely used, for example, ladle refining furnace, water-coal slurry pressurized gasification furnace lining, carbon black reactor lining, etc. Pink fused alumina is an indispensable material in high temperature industry.

 

 

Cr2O3 and AL2O3 have the same crystal structure, and their ionic radius differs by 13.7%. Therefore, under high temperature conditions, Cr2O3 and AL2O3 can form an infinite solid solution. When the content of Cr2O3 is increased, the liquidus temperature will rise. If an appropriate amount of Cr2O3 is added to AL2O3, it will be found that the mechanical properties and high temperature performance of the pink fused alumina refractory materials are changed.

 

Cr2O3 can form compounds with higher melting points or eutectics with higher melting temperatures with many common oxides.
In addition, Cr2O3 can also increase the viscosity of the slag. When the viscosity increases, the fluidity of the slag will decrease, and the erosion of the slag on the refractory material will also decrease. When we add an appropriate amount of Cr2O3 to the refractory material, we can reduce the spalling of the lining material structure caused by erosion.
