Description
Cylindrical grinding wheel and surface grinding are the most common grinding ways, which are used on cylindrical and surface grinder. The outer circle surface or the end surfaces of grinding wheels is the working area. Users could select property abrasive grains, grit size, hardness and structure number of the grinding wheels comply with their details working pieces and surface target quality and requirements on geometric precision. Cylindrical grinding wheel and surface grinding wheel are usually made of white fused alumina (white corundum) , green silicon carbide (carborundum), Brown fused alumina (brown corundum).
Cylindrical grinding is mainly carried out on a cylindrical grinding machine to grind the outer cylinder, outer cone and shoulder end faces of the shaft workpiece. When grinding, the workpiece rotates at a low speed. If the workpiece reciprocates longitudinally at the same time and the grinding wheel is fed laterally relative to the workpiece after each single stroke or double stroke in the longitudinal direction, it is called longitudinal grinding. If the width of the grinding wheel is larger than the length of the surface to be ground, the workpiece does not move longitudinally during the grinding process, but the grinding wheel continuously feeds the workpiece continuously, which is called the plunge grinding method. Generally, the efficiency of the cutting method is higher than that of the longitudinal grinding method. If the grinding wheel is trimmed into a forming surface, the incision grinding method can process the formed outer surface.
