What Safety Precautions Should You Take When Using BCA Ceramic Abrasive?

Apr 20, 2026

BCA ceramic abrasive is widely used in industrial grinding processes thanks to its high hardness and efficiency. However, ceramic abrasive materials can generate fine dust during operation, which may affect the eyes and respiratory system if proper protection is not in place. Therefore, using ceramic abrasive safely requires both awareness and appropriate preventive measures.

1. Eye Contact Protection

If ceramic abrasive dust enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water while lifting the eyelids. Remove contact lenses if present. High concentrations of ceramic abrasive dust may cause irritation or redness, and medical attention should be sought if discomfort continues.

2. Inhalation Safety Measures

If ceramic abrasive dust is inhaled, move to fresh air immediately. Exposure may irritate the nose, throat, and lungs, causing coughing or discomfort. Seek medical help if symptoms persist.

In addition to first aid, wearing protective equipment such as goggles and masks is essential when handling ceramic abrasive products. In case of serious exposure, always seek professional medical treatment to ensure safety.
