1. Whether the content of zirconia is stable is the most important indicator for judging whether the quality of AZ-40 zirconium corundum is stable.
2. The fundamental reason for the fluctuation of the grinding performance of the product is the change of the hardness and toughness of the abrasive, and the change of the hardness and toughness is caused by the change of the microstructure. Therefore, the key to stable product quality is to control phase separation.
There are two detection methods for zirconia content used by zirconium corundum manufacturers:
(1) Mandelic acid gravimetric method: 81% accuracy
(2) X-ray fluorescence spectrometry: 89% accuracy

Application of zirconium corundum abrasive:
1. The research and development of zirconium corundum was originally designed for the grinding of stainless steel and titanium alloys, but now the scope of use is getting larger and larger, and it is constantly extending.
2. Coated abrasives: cloth base, paper base, film, non-woven fabric, steel paper abrasive disc, etc. Cloth-based zirconium corundum products are not only used as abrasive belts, but also as the proportion of abrasive discs is increasing.
3. In terms of bonded abrasives: grinding rail grinding wheels, cutting discs, angle grinding discs, etc.
4. At 650 ℃, AZ-40 zirconium corundum has a phase transition, from tetragonal to monoclinic phase, the volume increases greatly, which is why zirconium corundum abrasive can not be used as ceramic grinding wheel (the firing temperature of ceramic grinding wheel is greater than 1000 ℃ ), mostly used for resin grinding wheel (the curing temperature of resin grinding wheel is less than 150℃).
