Wide Application Of Flap Wheel

Jul 30, 2025

Flap wheel is a type of coated abrasive. Each product is made from hundreds or even thousands of gauze sheets bonded together, hence the name.

Flap wheel uses aluminum oxide as the abrasive. The gauze is then laminated and bonded with a resin-based adhesive. Grooves are cut into the upper and lower chucks to secure the sanding blade between them. L-shaped snap grooves and fastening rings are located at each end of the inner edge of the sanding blade. The fastening rings are securely connected to the snap grooves. The adhesive cures and bonds the snap grooves together, creating the flap wheel.

The purpose of the flap wheel

It can be assembled on various automatic and manual grinding machines for grinding and polishing, and is suitable for various metals.

Features: sharp grinding and cutting, high safety, a powerful tool for surface treatment.

Specifications: diameter 2"--20", thickness 3/4"--7" and various special specifications.

Application: 1. It can be made into grinding wheels with different characteristics, shapes and sizes, and has a wide range of uses.

2. It can be used for grinding under various grinding fluid conditions and can also be used for dry grinding.

3. The operating speed of the flap wheel is generally below 35m/s, but it can also be made into a high-speed grinding wheel of 50, 60, 80m/s and even 120m/s.

The working surface of flap wheel is hard and wear-resistant, with strong elasticity, and has the characteristics of sharp cutting, high processing efficiency, no burns to the workpiece, stable physical and chemical properties, high safety, simple and convenient continuous operation, which can save more time than manual grinding and is a popular grinding product for surface treatment.

Suitable for large-scale rough polishing, grinding, rust removal, and grinding of stainless steel, metal, wood, furniture, stone, and other materials. It also features high polishing efficiency and a long service life for polishing and shaping irregular surfaces, as well as rust removal and polishing for various mechanical applications involving different materials. This product is commonly used in industries such as automotive manufacturing, heavy machinery, ship repair, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, hardware, and decoration.
