I. Pre-use Inspection: 3 Core Checks
1. Check the Cutting wheel Condition
◆ Confirm the cutting disc is free of cracks and deformation, and the label clearly indicates the specifications (must match the angle grinder model).
◆ Expired or damp cutting discs must not be used, as aging resin binders may lead to breakage.
2. Equipment and Protective Gear Preparation
◆ Angle grinder: Install the matching protective cover. When tightening the cutting wheel, avoid overtightening or loosening (the wrench should not slip when applying slight force).
◆ Personal Protective Equipment: Wear goggles, a dust mask, and non-slip gloves. Long hair must be tied back. Loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited.
3. Confirm the Working Environment
◆ Keep away from flammable and explosive materials. Keep the work area well-ventilated, the ground dry and free of oil stains, and ensure there are no people or obstacles in the cutting direction.
II. Operating Procedures: 5 Key Points
1. Pre-Start Test Run
◆ Before starting, firmly grip the angle grinder handles with both hands. After starting, let the cutting wheel idle for 3-5 seconds to observe for any abnormal vibration or wobble. Only proceed with operation if everything is normal.
2. Correct Grip and Force Application
◆ Use a two-handed operation method (one hand grips the front handle, the other the rear switch). Stand sideways to the cutting direction, avoiding direct contact with the cutting wheel.
◆ Advance at a uniform speed. Do not press down forcefully or twist the cutting disc laterally. Allow the abrasive to cut naturally, reducing overheating and wear.
3. Cutting Angle and Depth Control
◆ Keep the cutting wheel perpendicular to the workpiece at a 90° angle. The depth of a single cut should not exceed 1/3 of the cutting disc radius to avoid "one-cut" cuts that could cause jamming.
4. Prohibited Operations
❌ Never operate with one hand or use your feet to hold the workpiece in place!
❌ Never cut unintended materials (such as stone or glass; a special cutting wheel must be used).
❌ If you notice any unusual noises, smoke, or increased vibration from the cutting disc, stop the machine immediately and inspect it. Do not attempt to continue.
5. Emergency Handling
◆ If the cutting wheel breaks or the workpiece bounces back, immediately release the switch and wait for the equipment to stop completely before moving away from the area. Never attempt to touch rotating parts with your bare hands.
III. Post-Use: Two-Step Finishing and Maintenance
1. Equipment and Cutting wheel Storage
◆ Turn off the power. After the cutting disc has completely stopped, disassemble and clean it. Store it in a dry, light-proof toolbox, avoiding heavy stacking.
◆ Organize and store the angle grinder power cord. Check that the protective cover is intact and double-check before the next use.
2. Work Site Cleanup
◆ Promptly clean up metal shavings, especially aluminum and magnesium alloy powder, which should be collected separately (to prevent spontaneous combustion). Keep the environment clean.
