1. Common particle sizes of tabular alumina
Grading range of coarse sand:
5-10mm, 3-6mm, 1-3mm, 1-2mm, 0.5-1mm, 0-0.5mm.
Grading range of fine powder:
200 mesh (approximately 74μm), 325 mesh (approximately 45μm), corresponding to 200#-0 and 325#-0 specifications for fine powder.
2. Main applications of tabular alumina
High-temperature industrial applications:
Tabular alumina is used in steel casting slide gates, crucibles, and vessels for smelting rare and precious metals, due to its high temperature resistance and excellent gas-tightness.
As a refractory material, it is used in alumina-carbon, alumina-magnesia-carbon refractories, and high-alumina castable refractories, enhancing their thermal shock resistance and flexural strength.
Chemical and mechanical engineering applications:
Its high hardness, wear resistance, and strength make tabular alumina ideal for manufacturing wear-resistant pipes, reactor vessels, chemical pump components, and mechanical parts.
Electronics and vacuum technology applications:
Tabular alumina is used as an insulating material for solid-state circuit substrates, tube sockets, and vacuum devices in high-frequency/high-voltage environments, thanks to its stable ionic crystal structure and high-temperature insulation properties.
Steel Continuous Casting:
As a key material for slider plates, immersion tubes, and nozzles, it meets industry standards for steel continuous casting.
Special Applications:
When used in combination with calcined alumina, tabular alumina enhances the performance of low-alumina aggregates, making it suitable for applications in ceramics, chemically bonded matrices, and other fields.
Note: Particle size specifications and applications can be adjusted according to customer requirements; the actual production standards will prevail.
