The Difference Between Brown Aluminum Oxide Grinding Wheel And White Aluminum Oxide Grinding Wheel

1. Different raw materials: The raw materials of brown aluminum oxide are bauxite, anthracite and iron ore, while the raw materials of white fused alumina are alumina powder.

 

2. Different colors: Since the aluminum oxide content of white aluminum oxide is higher than that of brown fused alumina, the color of white fused alumina is white and that of brown aluminum oxide is brown-black.

 

3. Different in composition: Although both brown fused alumina and white aluminum oxide contain alumina, the alumina content of white fused alumina is over 99%, while the alumina content of brown aluminum oxide is around 95%.

 

4. Different hardness: The hardness of white aluminum oxide is slightly higher than that of brown fused alumina. White fused alumina abrasive is a crystalline compound with good hardness and toughness, fine crystal size and good wear resistance, but the production cost is high and the output is low, so the price is relatively high. Brown aluminum oxide abrasive has medium hardness, weak grinding effect and relatively low price.

5. Different properties: Brown fused alumina has the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low linear expansion coefficient and corrosion resistance. White aluminum oxide has the characteristics of high purity, good self-sharpening, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and stable thermal performance. In comparison, the hardness of white fused alumina is higher than that of brown aluminum oxide.

 

6. Different users: White aluminum oxide is used by some high-end users, because it has better cutting force and polishing effect. It is mostly used for carbon steel, alloy steel, malleable cast iron, hard bronze, etc., while brown fused alumina is commonly used in the market and has a relatively large consumption in the market. It is mostly used for tempered steel, high-speed steel, high-carbon steel, etc.

 

7. Different smelting processes: Brown aluminum oxide is made by melting bauxite at high temperature and undergoing an oxidation-reduction reaction, while white fused alumina is made by melting and crystallizing bauxite.

 

8. Different uses:
Brown fused alumina: Used for grinding wheels, sandblasting, free grinding, resin abrasives, coated abrasives, functional fillers, filter media, refractory materials.
White aluminum oxide: Used for ceramic manufacturing, resin bonded abrasives, sandblasting, polishing, grinding, precision casting and advanced refractory materials.
