In the process of using grinding wheel, there are often some problems. In particular, the longer time you use it, the more problems there will be. And blockage of grinding wheel is one of the common problems. There are many reasons for blockage of grinding wheel, such as abrasives, linear speed, hardness and abrasive grain size which may all lead to blockage of grinding wheels. Today, let’s look at the effect of abrasive size on blockage of the grinding wheel:
Different grinding wheels have different grain shapes and densities, as well as different size. Therefore, the blockage of grinding wheels is also different. In general, fine and dense abrasive particles are more likely to cause blockage of grinding wheels.
However, because the abrasive size of coarse-grain grinding wheels is not very small, the cutting block of it is relatively big and the gaps between the abrasive grain and abrasive grain is relatively wide. The filling speed of the larger chip block is not fast, the pores are not easy to be blocked, and the heat dissipation system of it is better.
In the early stage of grinding, the grinding speed of coarse-grain grinding wheel is slower than that of fine-grain grinding wheel. But in the later stage, when the pores and gaps of the wheel are filled with chip and powder, the coarse-grain grinding wheels are more likely to be blocked than fine-grain grinding wheels.
