The process of using compressed air to push the sandblasting abrasive to the surface of metal and other workpieces is called sandblasting, also known as shot peening and shot peening. Abrasives are divided into silicon carbide, ceramics, aluminum oxide, zirconia fused alumina, etc.
Because sand was the only abrasive that could be used in the early days of shot peening technology, shot peening was always called sandblasting at that time and for a long time afterwards.
Among the various surface pretreatment methods of metal sandblasting, sandblasting (shot peening) has the most thorough effect, the strongest adaptability and the widest application range. This is because: it cleans the steel surface the fastest and most thoroughly; sandblasting can clean surfaces that are usually difficult to clean, and some special tools can be used to clean the inner surface of the pipe, and the cost of sandblasting is the lowest.

The sandblasting treatment in the metal sandblasting process can make the cleaned surface obtain the required cleanliness and a certain degree of roughness at the same time, and improve the adhesion of the coating on the basic surface. No matter how good the coating is, it cannot adhere to the surface of the workpiece that has not been surface treated for a long time.
The purpose of surface pretreatment is to clean the surface and generate the roughness required to "lock" the coating on the surface. After the workpiece surface is coated with a good industrial coating, the coating life can be more than 3.5 times higher than the same quality coating on the surface treated by other methods. Another advantage of sandblasting (shot blasting) is that the surface roughness can be determined in advance according to requirements and can be easily achieved during the cleaning process.
The advantages of zirconia fused alumina abrasives in metal sandblasting process, special zirconia fused alumina abrasives have moderate hardness, high stacking density, no free silica, high specific gravity and good toughness. Super rock zirconia fused alumina is an ideal "environmentally friendly" sandblasting material, widely used in aluminum profiles, copper profiles, glass, washed jeans precision molds and other fields.
