The flap disc is a large variety of coated abrasive conversion products. It is made by pressing the cut coated abrasive sheets one by one along the circumference and gluing them to the back cover with adhesive. It is a necessary product in industrial production. When we use the flap disc for grinding and polishing, we need to pay attention to some operating specifications.
Specific operating specifications for grinding and polishing of flap discs
1. Check whether the polishing machine has loose screws and leakage safety devices;
2. Wear masks and goggles, and wear work clothes;
3. Hold the polishing tool tightly when polishing, keep the flap disc at an angle of 15-30 degrees to the working surface, proceed step by step, and do not use excessive force to cause surface defects;
4. Check whether the polished workpiece is welded properly, whether there are any bumps, whether the weld is flat, etc. If there are any defects, re-weld them before polishing;
5. The weight of the polishing tool itself should be used when polishing the surface of the door panel. The flap discs are smoothly combined with the processing surface, using translation or circular motion. Do not add force in the middle and change the angle at will;
6. During the grinding process, if there are pores, slag inclusions, cracks and other phenomena on the surface, the welder should be notified in time for repair welding;
7. After grinding, self-inspection is required. There should be no obvious cracks and defects in the grinding area, no welding spatter around, and the products should be classified and stored, and stacked neatly and orderly;
8. Quality requirements for grinding and polishing: There should be no unevenness on the surface of the parts after grinding, the overall surface should be smooth, there should be no poor welding, and the grinding depth should not exceed 0.2mm;
9. After the work is completed, the power supply should be cut off, the tools should be placed neatly in the designated position, and the site should be cleaned before leaving the post.
Flap discs can effectively shorten operation time, save grinding costs, improve grinding efficiency, reduce operator fatigue, and increase machine life. They are widely used in various industries or fields of the manufacturing industry.
