Glass Beads Screening Method

Jun 18, 2025

Glass beads have the advantages of light weight, low thermal conductivity, relatively high strength, excellent chemical stability, etc. The surface is specially treated to have lipophilic and hydrophobic properties, making them easier to disperse in organic materials. Do you know how to screen glass beads?

Glass beads screening method:

1. The collector is at the end of the sorting equipment. It is not only a purification and treatment equipment, but also a collector for recycling glass beads. The equipment used in the process is a pulse bag collector, which can collect glass beads that the separator fails to select.

2. The sorter adopts gravity separation method. The sorter consists of three sedimentation boxes of different sizes. At the bottom of each sedimentation box, there is a discharging device. When the airflow of fly ash enters the sedimentation box from the air inlet, the gas flow rate decreases rapidly due to the increase in the cross-section of the airflow channel. The fly ash is affected by its own gravity. A part of it gradually falls into the sedimentation box. According to the equal drop principle, the heavier coarse particles, honeycomb glass, quartz, mullite, solid beads, iron beads and large carbon particles are mostly settled in the sorter.

3. The separator uses the inertial centrifugal force acting on the particles during the rotation of the airflow to separate the particles from the airflow. The most important device of the separator is the cyclone separator group. The tiny microbeads coming down from the sedimentation box channel enter the separator group with the air flow. After being sorted by the two-stage cyclone separator group, most of the tiny microbeads can be sorted out, and the remaining very small amount of glass beads finally enter the collector with the air flow.
