During the use of grinding wheels, some problems are often encountered. Today, I will introduce the problems and corresponding solutions that may be encountered in common grinding applications.
1. Causes and solutions for barrel-shaped workpieces:
The guide plate is inclined to one side of the guide wheel: the guide plate needs to be adjusted
The surface of the guide wheel is not trimmed: the trimmer needs to be adjusted to an appropriate angle to trim the guide wheel
2. Causes and solutions of burns on the workpiece surface:
The grinding wheel is too hard: choose a softer grinding wheel; increase the workpiece speed; reduce the grinding wheel speed
Insufficient coolant flow: increase the coolant flow and make the coolant flow directly into the grinding area
The diamond dresser is not sharp enough: turn the dresser angle or replace it
The cutting speed of the diamond dresser is too slow: increase the cutting speed of dressing
3. Causes and solutions of vibration marks on the workpiece surface:
The workpiece is too high from the center line: adjust the height of the guide plate
The grinding wheel is not balanced: balance and dress the grinding wheel
The guide plate angle is too steep: use a guide plate with a standard angle of 30°
Guide too thin or bent: use a straight, wider guide
The main shaft is worn out and the motor vibrates severely: check the machine tool components and replace them effectively
4. Causes and solutions of scratches on the workpiece surface:
The coolant is dirty: strengthen the filter or replace the coolant
The grinding wheel is too soft and the threshing is too fast: replace with a harder grinding wheel
The grinding wheel is too coarse: use a finer grinding wheel
5. The cause and solution of the out-of-tolerance roundness of the workpiece:
The workpiece is set too low: adjust the workpiece above the centerline of the grinding wheel. The diamond dresser is not sharp enough: turn the dresser angle or replace it. The grinding wheel is too soft: use a harder grinding wheel
The guide wheel is loose: re-tighten the guide wheel screws
The speed of the guide wheel is too slow: increase the speed of the guide wheel
