Analysis and preventive measures of heavy duty grinding wheel burst
1 Reasons for installation
The paper pad is flying or the paper pad is seriously damaged; the chuck screws are loose or not all the chuck screws are installed; the inner ring of the grinding wheel or the joint between the grinding wheel and the chuck is obviously slipping.
1.1 Problems with the installation method
1) The uneven tightening torque of the tightening bolts causes uneven force on the grinding wheel, which makes the grinding wheel tilt and loose, and rotates relative to the grinding wheel chuck until the heat bursts.
2) The long-term uneven bolt tightening torque will cause the wear of the grinding wheel chuck. In this state, even if the qualified grinding wheel is installed correctly, there is a possibility of bursting, which may cause hidden equipment hazards.
1.2 Preventive measures
1) Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to ensure uniform tightening torque.
2) When tightening the bolts, they must be tightened diagonally to prevent overturning moment.
3) Confirm that the paper pad is in good condition when installing, and replace the spare paper pad if it is damaged.
4) During the use of the grinding wheel, check the grinding wheel and the chuck by using the clearance time of slag removal, loading and unloading, etc., and troubleshoot hidden dangers such as loosening of the chuck screw due to grinding vibration.
5) After the grinding wheel is installed, draw a straight line on the flange and the grinding wheel with chalk. After grinding, check whether the straight line is aligned to judge whether the grinding wheel is slipping.
6) The parallelism between the grinding wheel chuck and the pressure plate should be checked regularly. When it is greater than 0.1 mm, it is forbidden to use it and repair it.
